To install PowerAssistant for Linux on your computer, please do the following step:
#tar xvf palinux.tar
After the above command be excuted, the program files of PowerAssistant for Linux will be released to the current working directory. use the 'ls' command to check it.
#./pkgmgr -i
An intactive menu will appear asking you what you want to do:
0. Install This Package
1. Cancel Installation
Select '0' tp continue or select '1' to exit the installation.
After local Agent is up, another menu will be displayed, asking you whether you want to start the Monitor window:
1. Start a Monitor running on XWINDOWS
0. Don't run any kind of Monitor
If you are now working under X-Window, you can select '1' to start to monitor your UPS. But if you are now working under the text terminal, you'll get an error message and the Monitor window won't be displayed.
Follow the steps below to remove PowerAssistant from your Linux system:
# /usr/lib/powerassistant/pkgmgr -r
